Had a pretty decent opening day with the new 150 ABLR's. They seem to be pretty accurate, for just getting shot about .015" off the rifling. I used some RL25 and Magpro, CCI250's and WW brass.

These were all seated at 2.910" for the initial run. These were all shot at 200 yards as well. Seems like overall, I am getting nearly MOA right outta the gates, and I think with a little seating depth adjustment, they will come right together.

68 grains RL25 3068 FPS AVG

69 grains RL25 3100 AVG

70 grains RL25 3148 AVG

MAGPRO

I shot 70 and 71, but I ruined the group when I tore the paper off. No matter anyhow, it was about like the RL25 groups.

70 grain Magpro 3080 FPS AVG

I got two readings from the 71 grain charge of Magpro, which both were in the 3140 range as well.

Either way, pretty happy for my first time out with them, and I imagine, like other Nosler's will shrink up once they get pushed back a little off the rifling. Speeds look pretty decent as well. I am hoping for the 3100+ mark, but just about any of the loads today would be good enough for any hunting I would likely do.

Looks good, Scotty. Might have to run some through the 'bee when I get settled down around here. If that ever happens.

Most gratifying, undoubtedly. It does look as if they will perform well for you, Scotty.

Dang I think your darn close if not there. I should probably send you a rifle or two for some LD I haven't had a lick of time to do anything with a rifle.

I really believe they are going to be excellent and with a .625bc they should have serious poop  even at extended ranges.

Blessings,
Dan

Looks like you are quite close to perfection, very nice Scotty.

Scotty, that looks really promising! I have been playing with them in my 270 Weatherby and have not been getting anything over 3050 using Nosler book data. I'm still working up.

Those are some awesome speeds!

Okay, did some more work with them yesterday. I loaded them up with my two top end loads and seated the bullet about .010" off the rifling to to see what they did..

Again, all shooting was at 200 yards.

70 grains RL25

71 grains of Magpro

Nothing to write home about.

I then had a batch of 150's seated at 2.865" with 70 of RL25. About .060" off the rifling for my 270.

Those 4 shots went across the screens at 3139, 3146, 3149, 3140FPS..

Pretty sure I am done with them. While I might be able to get them to group a little better, I am not sure it will ever do any better than that consistently.

This does add some evidence even the ABLR's like some jump to the rifling. I tried working up close with them and they weren't liking it, decent, but once I shortened them up, they came together pretty quick like.

Seating depth sure tells a story on that load. Excellent shooting of a fine load.

I backed up to 275 yards today, and wanted to try to get a zero with the gun. 97* out today, but again, I wanted to shoot!

The rifle did a few groups of 2 close and 1 out aways. Not sure if it was actually the load or me.. Too hot for fun shooting, but they did turn in some good looking spreads.. RL25 is a winner in my book for the 150 ABLR's.

Be fun to get it to 300 yards, get a solid zero and then run it out further. Load seems decent enough and a cooler day might make it a little more betterer!!!...

Another fine load that will serve you well. It is always a comfort when one has multiple rifles and loads that will work.

Scotty,
RL-25 is looking good in that rifle. Great shooting too buddy.
