I tried a suggested load in my 270 WSM of 60.5 grs. IMR 4350. It shot ok but showed a little pressure. I backed off to 60 grs. and it looked good and gave me 2" groups at 200 yds. GREAT!! but The velocities were 3145 and 3168 fps. Almost 200 fps below the AccuBond which shoots 2" goups now too. My OAL is 2.9" with 3.02" being my load length where the bullet touches the lands so I'm .12" from the lands with my load. Any thoughts? I like the e-tip but cant get decent velocity without pressure signs.
I'm getting 3331 fps with the AccuBond at 64.5 grs of IMR 4350 and It may get more accurate at 64 because at 65 grs. it was patterning instead of grouping. It's still a work in progress. I like this caliber and Just put my 257 Wby up for sale on Gunbroker.

Greg,

Try loading at .100" off the lands. That seems to be the magic distance for best accuracy.

My accuracy is good but pressure signs make me wary of starting that bullet any closer to the lands. I have flattened primers and ejector hole imprint at 60.5 grs.

Until Nosler modifies the design to reduce the bearing surface, it's going to be an issue. Guess that's why I still shoot accubonds.

I'm using the same load, 60.5gn of IMR4350, but ,myCOL is 2.88" and I'm using Fed GM215M primers. My velocity avg is 3350fps. Try seating the bullet deeper and see if that will help.

Oh and you're .012 (twelve thousandsths) from the lands, not .12 - seat it deeper - again try what worked for me - 2.88"

I found one of the 130 ET that I shoot out of my old 270 WSM in my 200 yard target yesterday, they sure make an impressive mushroom.
