270 WSM & RL-26?

I am looking to switch to RL26 in my 270 WSM, will be using the 140gr Accubonds. Just curious where most people start and where they are finding their max just to give me a ball park figure. Thanks
 
I run RL-26 in my father in laws 270 WSM with the 140 AB. His has a 26" tube (factory Rem 700 Boone and Crockett Edition) and I am under the Alliant listed max and am getting 3260 fps. I can't remember right off the top of my head what the charge is, I want to say 68gr, but I'm not sure. Please look at the link below and work up.

I recently started working up a load with this combination, I started at 63.0gr and I can't get anywhere near Alliants max of 69.0gr, so work up slow and be careful. I'm at 66.7gr, just over 3200 fps with a 24" barrel. There also is about 1.5gr difference from the first lot of powder I used to the second lot I'm now using, to get the same velocity.

Let us know how it works for you, my load shot 1/2" group at 100 yards, now just have to get it to repeat and try it out at 200 and 300 yards.
 
Due to my mag length my max coal is 2.830.

I loaded up 5 rounds each at 66.0, 66.5, and 67.0. Looks like I may run into pressure before I get to my 67.0 loads but that’s ok, I can pull them.
 
It doesn't introduce much difference in velocity and/or maximum chamber pressure. It actually boosts these values slightly.

I’ve been using 26 in my 270 WSM quite a lot with 150’s. It’s a steamer with 150 Partitions and BBCs.



67.5 was where I settled.

 
Wow, that is some amazing velocity and excellent accuracy. How long is your barrel?

I started getting pressure signs with 150gr Speer BTSP and RL26 at 65.8g with a velocity of 3161 fps. Just goes to show every gun is different.

24” AFG.

No pressure in these, even above but it seems very good right at 3200.
 
In my 22in barrel 270wsm:

67.0gr shot the best and averaged 3130fps with the 140 AB. No sticky bolt, and primers looked good.

I shot them at 200 yards and had some horizontal stringing, but I'm attributing that to 1)myself, been a while since I have shot and could tell I wasn't being very consistent in my fundamentals. 2) had about a 15mph cross wind.

I'll test this load again in more favorable conditions. No vertical stringing though which is good.
