Well I got to do a bit of shooting today with the 270 WSM. I had been doing some loading with magpro and has having a hard time getting consistant results.
Here is what I got with RL-25 and the 140 AB.

The 69 gr of RL 25 shot th best at 2.860. So I loaded up some more with 69 gr RL-25 and tried three at the 2.860". Three at 2.848", and three at 2.830" Here is what I got...

My bro got me a new chrony for Christmas but it didn't get here yet. So I'm going with th QL speed of 3224 fps. I can't go any longer with the AOL because of my mag length, so I might try going .005" shorter and shoot it again and see what happens. Its not as good as I would like but is the best I've got out of this gun so far.

I'm still getting a funny mark on the head of my brass with every load. Thinking that I might have to send it to my smith and have it blueprinted. I bet that shrinks things down a good bit to be closer to what I'm looking for.

Hey , looks promising. My 270wsm loves 140AB 64.5g RL22 wlrm at 2.850
I tried at 65g but found it a little tight on extraction in my rifle

It looks to me as if it prefers the longer length, but if you've hit the max length for your mag, then your pretty much stuck with that. Only other thing I can recomend is to try a different primer or two.

I would be happy with a consistent 3/4 MOA shooter though. Thats plenty good to 600 yards.

Projected, 3225fps isnt to shabby with that 140g. If I'da known you needed the crony, I woulda left it with you.

TRY IMR4350, SEEMS TO WORK ALWAYS ON THE WSM. Last development
130 Sciroccos and 62.3 imr4350 3350fps form a custom Remy titanium with a 28" lilja barrel.

My best results were with RL22 YMMV.

You are getting there, keep at it.
I still think you need a 280 AI. :p

Thanks guys going to be trying some RL-22 this afternoon.

JD do you mean instead of the 270 WSM or both

POP I'm having a few issues with QL and my Nosler book. Normally there is a few grains difference but with 7828 ss and RL-22 QL Max is like four to six grains higher than the nosler book. If I'm looking to start in the middle and work up do I use the Nosler book middle or the QL middle. On the RL-25 I used the QL middle and worked up just fine, but there was no nosler data to compare it to. Just wondering what your thoughts were on this.

Well I worked up from 64gr. to 65.5 gr. of IMR 7828 and didn't have any real luck. I could get two to touch with 65.5 and then the third shot was two inches right. Didn't get any preasure signs but none of the loads shot over three inches but none of them shot under one inch either. I need to get one more box of 140 AB ordered before I try the RL-22. I should also have my chrony by the first of the week and that helps load development a ton. A guy can never have to much data when your trying to develope loads.

I'll keep everybody posted

I agree. Unless you shoot it in your gun you never know. Just a reference.
