I tried the 140AB in my Sako and found a load with RL17 that it liked and it was pushing about 3150fps.
Three shot group was about 1/2 inch.
I haven't used this on Elk before (only 150 PT in this gun).
I saw 4 bulls today and shot a 6pt at about 75yds. High shoulder shot and dropped it right there.
Full penetration with a 3" hole in the ribs on the off shoulder. I'm impressed! It held together at close range.
I was lucky enough to have 3 friends come out after a phone call and help me pack it out about 1.5 miles back to the gate.
Then it was another 7 miles by wheeler to the trucks.

It's nice (lucky) to have a selection of bullets that shoots well out of this gun.

You done good. Congratulations. Sounds like a find load you've worked up. It is nice when you can take the close shot.

Man, that is a great Idaho bull. Congrats to you. I used the same combo for elk with my 270WSM also, worked out okay and I have no complaints. I am now trying the 150gr PT's. Glad you had some partners to help you with the pack job. Scotty

Congrats, that is a fine bull! Wish my 270WSM faze would have worked out better. They are impressive.

Congratulations buddy! I would treat that load as my overall load for everything!

Congrats. on a beautiful bull. Great Caliber and bullet.
I think that you have found a keeper :)

Blessings,
