After talking to my brother in law about reloading, he would like to develop a load fro his 270wsm. He is shooting factory 140 grain AccuBonds and would like to stay with them. What powder would your suggest we start with?

Any other secrets to loading for a wsm?

In several WSMs, I've had great results with RL17. 4350 and 4831 would be next on my list.

No secrets to the WSMs really, very straightforward load development in all of mine.

I load for two wsms, finding that RL/22 and either CCI-250s or Rem. 9 1/2M primers worked the best. CCI-250s are very tight in certain primer-pockets. Seat those 140ABs right out there, but not touching, as some rifles like bullets very close.

YMMV,

Jim

Like others have said RL 17, 19 & 22. I settled on RL17 for my 270WSM ... which I just sold a few months ago to my future son-law. I have been shooting RL26 this last year in my 300WSM with great results. I would try it in the 270 if I still had it.

I've used 7828SSC, RL22, Rl25, RL26, MagPro and H1000 with 130-150's and all of them were very fast and accurate. It's just about as easy a cartridge to load for as I've ran across.
