Howd’y,
I finally found a solution to my reloading problem, or lack thereof. I bought myself a 20 dollar folding workbench, got some plywood from Home Depot, and put them together. It ain’t pretty but it sure works:
So I did what any sane person would do — load immediately.
For this, I chose my favorite .284 bullet and powder combo: the 120gr TTSX BT over IMR 4350.
I made up a ladder going in .5 increments from 58.8gr-60.8 (Barnes’ book max). 3.270” COAL.
When I got to the range, it was a nice 60° out and clear. Beautiful range weather.
My rifle settled on the middle load: 59.8gr of IMR 4350 going an average of 3368fps with an ES of 7. That’ll do, pig.
Running the numbers in a ballistic calculator, This load should be good out to at least 500, though I won’t shoot past 400.
Drop out to 400 is a measly 19.4”, less than 5 MOA.
KS deer season (I’ve got a Muley tag) cannot come soon enough.
