280 AI Bullet Selection

I agree with the one bullet one calibre peace of mind as well. I have never shoot anything other than the 130gr. out of a 270 win. But since joining this group I am interested to see what the new long range Acubonds will do and since they only come in the 150gr that is what I grabbed. My Cousin shoots a 270WSM and I believe that since it has a little more to give than the win, I think the 150gr. ABLR will be excellent for it.
I am hoping that Nosler will expand the variety in the 277 in the near future and I can pick up 130gr. ABLRs.
In my 280AI I am going to stick with the new 168gr. ABLRs I think they will be just what the Doctor ordered right Mike

Blessings,
Dan

I also tend strongly to use one bullet for each caliber preferring to change rifles to change bullet weights. I do review this policy as new bullets become available and sometimes will change bullets for a specific caliber as new and better bullets become available.

The 160 gr. AccuBond with IMR 7828 at 2950 fps is killer in my 280 and the 280 AI can only be better. The AccuBond is the best all around bullet made. I've made hits at 3130 fps at 3o yards and took the elk down so fast I ran past it trying to find it. They never fail on shoulder shots and they never fail to open and penetrate deeply. They are all I use in the calibers they are in. No .416s yet.
