So all I can say is I'm blow away by my first custom. I think the only week point is the nut behind the trigger. Using the 160 AB with 62 gr of IMR-7828SSC I think I've found my first good load with her. Shot a .805" outside to outside or a .521" group if my math is right. Loaded at 3.435" and averaged 3162 out the barrel with a 22 ES and a 11 SD! Tried 5 different COAL's and I think this is where I'm going to settle .015" off the lands. Also shot a couple outta the 6-284 back to the drawing board. Hate scope mounts. But I did fire the first one through the Chrony that was the same load that I collected that 90AB from and she read 3714 fps. Also ran a 5 shot group outta the plain Jane 280 and her numbers with that 140BT are 2830 with a 37 ES and a 15 SD.

160 AB at 3161!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes~~~~

3000 seems more normal given a 24" tube, great accuracy though!

You got a 30" barrel (full choke?)  :p

I think it would lay the hammer down!
Nope 28" I know I cheat!! But it seems like she will shoot will verify after the hay is down.

Jake,

Nice shooting. 3161 fps with a 160 gr AB is smokin'.

Wow, great shooting Jake! That 28" barrel is really making that Ackley look like an STW! Great shooting buddy. It is really laying them in there.

Jake that is a great group can't wait until you knock
Something down with it
Keep up the good work :)

Blessings,
Dan

Ditto the comments on that .280 AI velocity. That's smokin'!

I guess you've seen those 90-grain Accubonds spray the target just like I have. I am planning a trip to the range in a couple of hours and will try some 6mm-284 loads powered by H4831SC (as opposed to Ramshot Magnum, which is what I have been trying with no success w/the AccuBond). If the Accubonds don't work with H4831SC I think I will abandon that bullet all together since I have seen 95-grain Partitions deliver sub-MOA accuracy my preliminary pressure trials---using Magnum!

Hopefully the powder change will make a positive difference, but if not these Accubonds are down the road. :|
