My .280 Remington Mountain Rifle found its mark this morning in WV. It was opening gun season today. It was a nice and balmy 55 degrees at 0600,other than that it was a nice morning.Lee

Congratulations on an excellent buck! Particulars (range, bullet, etc.) please...

Thanks, I didn't even make it past the field behind my house. I was within eye sight of my house sitting on the field waiting to get light enough, so I wouldn't jump one with out a shot. Someone had jumped this buck I suspect ,because winds were gusting to 30mph and nothing was moving. My load is what I have had worked up for years. 140gr ballistic tip over a stiff load of Rl-19 and wlr primer. The buck was shot at 165 yds .Lee

Nice buck Lee, congratulations.
The 280 Rem and 140 gr BT kills WT like lighting. I suspect he didn't go far.

Ooooo That's a nice one are you sure you didn't have him tied to a tree in the back yard?   Now if I can kill one with the Whelen I'll be happy.

He dropped in his tracks, walked to the garage and got the tractor. It sure is nice to be able to use the front end loader  .That sure makes it easy.Lee

And that is why the .280 is one of my favourite rifles. Good job, Lee. He is a fine looking buck.

Great buck and cool cartridge! That is a nice deer hunt right there. The tractor has to make it real nice!
