I tried some IMR4350 with some 165 hot cors this weekend and got really low speeds. 57.4-2612/57.7-2592/58-2625. I didn't have pressure signs. Woud you keep climbing or switch to something else? I have some RL22 and H4350. Thanks

Not sure why you are so low, but if your charge weights and your chrono speeds are accurate, you are. I've used the 57 gr charge with 165's a whole bunch in numerous 30-06's. Generally runs right at 2800 the times I've checked speeds.

I will say that the Speer's tend to run slower than like weighted bullets.........not sure why but they do, but not that much lower. This has been my observation with 30 caliber bullets, can't speak to any validity if that holds true across the board in other calibers. With the Speer's I always used the SPBT 165, not the HC, so not comparing apples to apples.

All else being equal, pressure equals speed. So if you trust your chrono readings and aren't seeing any pressure, I'd say keep going up in charges. In the neighborhood of 2750-2800 you ought to see good accuracy with that load. Problem is at 58 grains already with IMR 4350, you don't have a lot of room to go up depending on your case and your OAL.

It was 28 degrees out so that might be why it was a little slower. My chrono has been accurate up to date and the 7wsm rounds I fired were showing me that the chrono was still working.
