Loaded up some 30-06 loads for my Handy Rifle last week and shot them at my 50 yd. target, I grouped 8 shots the size of a half dollar. Now I know that I'm good out to 200yds. for the up and coming deer season. My 30-06 shoots this load well,165gr. Nosler BT,58.8 gr. IMR4350 powder and Rem. Brass. With the shorter barrel that the handy rifle has,it does a good job out to 200 yds.

Noslers Rock!

Confidence is key but less than 100 yds sight in doesn't do the 06 or any other centerfire justice. I'm sure you'd be ok to 200 but I know that you would be good to 300 if you sighted your rifle in 2" high at 100, giving it a 200 yard zero, with 8" of drop at 300 yards.

+1 to what YoteSmoker said. Siight in for 200 yds, you will be about .5" high at 50 yds and 1.8-2.0" high at 100 yds. With a 200 yd zero, you can hold on fur out to 300 yds.
