Are these bullets even available. These arw the abs with the black coating like the bt/ CT? I have only seen them on factory winchester ammo.

Nosler makes bullets for several different companies. Some of these bullets are made with different color tips. The Winchester CT bullets are red and are offered as seconds through SPS. These bullets are not coated. Winchester adds their Lubalox coating and loads them in their ammunition.

Not really sure of the long term benefits using the Lubalox coating.

I haven't ever seen a benefit or negative of them. They shoot just the same to me.

Does the black coating do what they claim? Or do you think its a sales point

Yes they do. I can attest to this very much.

Number one and probably least discussed with the Lubalox is the cleaning of it. I can't stress enough how much easier it makes getting the barrel to a mirror finish on the inside. That alone make the little extra it costs worth it. On the range, a 8-12 FPS increase could be expected. That is nothing in the grand scale, but in making it easier to clean the barrel is almost priceless.

If you are very picky on how clean you get your barrel by all means do look at the Lubalox coated bullets.

Same here. No difference at all

No difference in bullet. I too can say barrel cleaning was easier when I used the factory WS 180gr AB's. I reload since 2005 in my 300WM.

Sure wish a person could get the WS XP3's for reloading to try, not that my reloads with the AB's dont work.
