So far I have 180 ballistic silvertips loaded with RL 26 powder. Waiting for the Wyoming gale winds to calm down.

So just dipped my toe in the water today and got:
FPS. Gr
2664. @65
2727. @67
2879. @69
2935. @71
I’m going to keep adding coal, but wanted to start low and work up. On this current trend, I’m not sure I’ll see 3124 FPS at 72.7gr of RL26 with my application (26” bbl, CCI 250, 180 e-tip & unfired Hornady cases), but more to follow!

Sounds pretty strong to me Joe.. That is some excellent speed from the old horse!

Thanks Scotty. I’m looking forward to continuing with the load development. I wrote to Redding to see if they have a different seating die plug. The one it came with originally won’t let me get the bullet down far enough to jump the 0.1” the E-tips tend to like.

Great shooting Fotis and load work EOD.
You guys really know how to spend a guys money with all these new powder test and bullets.
I really need to burn what I have before I buy new but it sure is tempting to go get some R26 and give it a whirl in my 300wm since it is the highest velocity producer for that cartridge.

Thanks TD. RL26 is good in sooo many applications that it has me rethinking a lot of my older loads. Temp stability, velocity and load metering and density make it a top choice!

So made it to the range today and managed to burn a few with RL26 and 180 E-Tips in the 26” bbl:

72-2923
72.7-2962
73.2-2996
I was hoping to be a bit faster, but think I may just settle for around 3000 FPS and play with seating depth a bit. I’m at 0.100” right now. I imagine the brass should last awhile at these pressures.
