300 rem ultra mag

Unfortunatly due to our great fearless leader my selection for loading is slim. 3 stores and all I came up with was 2# magpro and 200 federal 215 primers. Luckily I have about 500 165gr.AB. so it looks like that's what I will be loading for the 300rum. Any recipes for 165 would be great
 
I'm with you. Love the 165AB in my 30-06. Nosler says they have an unlimited velocity above1800 fps.. with magpro it looks like I will be running about 3300 muzzle velocity. Once I'm loaded I will do some bullet testing and post pics on that.
 
Got a hold of some 180 AB's today and a pound of RL22. Getting closer. Has anyone used this combo?
 
I will tell you Retumbo is where it is at. About 99 grains for 3300 fps

Trust me. I would rather be lo loading retumbo or rl25. Just getting ahold of those two powders is rediculous!
 
It's in the list Fotis posted from QuickLoad. :shock: :? The charge weight is the second number - in this case, 87.6 - as indicated in the list of column headers at the top above the load data. Just start 10% below this charge and work up carefully.

I have over 1000 rounds thru my 300 RUM, still going strong. My 200 AB load shoots tight with no problems. My gun sports a Shall Barrel from the Pittsburgh, Pa Area. Given me no issues at this point.

All depends on how nice you are to it.

Give it time to cool between shots, don't cook your barrel with a hot and heavy range session. You already have a LOT of powder in there, don't try and push the limits any more than you need for your hunting velocities.

My buddy's lasted about 1300 rounds but he took care of it!
 
My wife's XCR has over 600 rounds down the factory tube. She can still group 2" - 3" AT 400 yards with it.

I sold a SFII after I had put over 200 rounds down it. I bought it with an unknown amount of rounds down the tube, but the guy I bought it from was proud of the fact that he could fry eggs on the barrel. This was before I knew about the barrel heat. Needless to say, it would not hold a group less than 2" at 100 yards.

My current Sendero has over 300 rounds out, and I can double tap a 8" target at 800 yards, . Its a sub MOA weapon.

My XCR has about 600 rounds from the previous owner on the factory tube, and shoots sub MOA and almost as accurate as my wife's. I have put another 300+ down it.

The key: Two, max three shots and a complete cool down between the next two or three shots at the range.

We shoot the XCR's on avg 100 rounds per year each.

These are our favorite rifles.
 
I try to give my 300 RUM Sendero aleast 1 minute between shots and a good cool down after 3 rounds. It's still a tack driver after hundreds of rounds.

You should look at Big R out in Falcon if you're looking for supplies. Those guys always had everything I was looking for.
