Here is that group at 525 yards. Its 1.5" for 3 shots. Bullet was 200g AB, load was 92g H-1000, velocity was 3100fps.

I plan on shooting both my 338 RUM and 280 AI at 500 yd sthis summer.

Good luck at the 500 yard range. A good load should print a 5" 3 shot group at 500 yards. That is more then adequate for deer hunting. This is not very hard to do even with factory rifles with good handloads. With your .280AI with its custom barrel, will probly be in the 2-3" range very consistently. That means very deadly performance. Your 338 RUM in the LSS should give you at least MOA groups to 500 yards. Those LSS's are pretty dang good shooters, as you know. As you shoot farther, you only want to keep improving your distance, trust me, its addicting. Next you'll be out to 600-700, then you'll want to get to that 1000 yard shot.
