I bought some rl22 and imr4831
A couple of days ago just 1lb each
But I have 3.5lb of retumbo and 2.5lbs of rl25
maybe out of them I'll find a good sub MOA load for deer hunting ..
thx again for all the data
will help me bunches

The 300 Win Mag really shines with a 180 gr bullet and 75.0 grs RL22.

JD338

Used quite alot of RL25 in the 300 Win Mag. It has worked REALLY well with 180 and 200 grain Noslers. Speeds are very good, along with case fill, accuracy has been all I could ask for as well.

I wouldn't think you'd have much trouble at all getting 3050-3100 out of the 180's.

Good luck with your load work, take some pictures of your load work.

There is a fairly large variance in 300 Win Mag cases, so depending on your chosen cases your loads may need more or less powder to reach these speeds. JD was spot on though, 75-76 grains of RL22 with just about any 180 grain bullet works real well.

Cant comment on RL25. My 300WM loves RL22 and 180gr AB's. My rifle (Sako m75ss) is 74.3gr and my buddy with the identical rifle is 75.0gr

Never needed to try another powder (I have lots of different ones), just happy with the RL22 plus I cant seem to find the time to reload lately.

We used the older Barnes 180 XBT in a couple 300WM and with it 76gr R22 was the berries. We got about 3050-3100 fps if memory serves ( that was from '98 to 2002) I haven't used a 300 since as my 35 Whelen AI was so comparable in the field with the 200X @2970 and was in a favorite rifle. I saw the 300WM with that 180XBT ( I'm confident a Partition or AccuBond would do as well) just wade through African plains game like crazy. Sure, a good 308 would work for the average range, but when we got to Namibia where shots were longer and the wind was prevalent, that 300WM was awesome! No doubt, it is a great game cartridge. Now we have newer powders ( I'm really warming up to R26 in my 7mm Rem mag) these old standbys are just getting better! Good luck to you!

So far in my 300 Win Mag.............75 gr RL22, Winchester Brass, 180 gr AccuBond and Fed 215M primers are the ticket in initial testing.
I'm getting an avg of 3116 fps and it's shooting under .75" out of my factory Rem 700

The H4831sc is not even close to getting the same speeds as 75 gr gets only 3025 fps.

From what I've seen so far the RL22 is the ticket. I'd start there.

well the 165gn ab & rl22 was 1.5in @100 best group up to 78.5gn ... book shows 79gn ... im gettin no pressure signs ....
loadin up some imr4831 tonight with the 165s .. hope to try them tomorrow ... i have some 180s also just really wanting the 165 to work out

Where are the data numbers that keep getting posted.
it's awesome ... is it a website and you just plug the info in ?
Thanks
