Hello guys,
Just new in the forum... but I need some help with my 300WSM... I use it for long range hunting and practice (and have fun) a lot with target shooting...
I'm running a 26" barrel and my ELD-X 200gr speeds up to 2960fps with vihtavuori N560... no signs of pressure, either during load development or shooting it... but... I have this feeling that I'm strecthing it a little to much... to hot...

IT SHOOTS GREAT!

Please... any one with 300WSM/ELD-X/N560 ? DrMike can you run a simulation for me, please ?
what is your experience?

Thank you.

I had used the same bullet in my 300 Win Mag with RL 26, and I got the same results, no pressure at all up to 3,120 fps, but QuickLoad shows its at the red line, so I backed off to 3,080 fps and used it on two cow nilgai last year.

Do you have the H20 case fill data on your fired cases, it would be helpful to determine your pressure level on Quickload.

I’m next to my computer for QL right now but I would bet you’re not being too hard on it. The 200 ELD is a pretty slick bullet and your 26” barrel helps the cause. I used Nosler 200’s to get 2890-2930 with stuff like RL19, H4831SC, etc so your speeds with 560 seem to jive.

Code:

Thank you all... you guys are awsome....
Now I will press the trigger a little bit more relaxed... but still be looking for signs...
I'm running 67gr and my loads with 560 are a little compressed... my rifle likes it better with CBTO at the short side... more bullet jump...
I will fill my fired case with H2O and have same data...
Thank you

Looks like 560 is really in that sweet spot. I know I need to put some into a cart the next time I see it. I have a 300 WSM I haven’t mounted an optic on yet that needs to get warmed up.

It shoots really good!
Haven´t tried yet... but we should take a look at N555... we mite have a pleasent surprise...
Hard to get powder, this days... and primers....

Again my 300WSM... old issue comming into my mind ... please explain to me, because I didn´t undestand it very well...
A couple years ago I was trying to develop a load with 220gr Interlock RN and N560 to hammer same wildboars at mide range...
While working up with a ladder test, highest loads started to have carbon, first in the neck and has I was going up, also in case body... It was a second firing brass.
# poor sealling? But shouldn't pressure rise as charge goes up?
# not enough burning time?
Load ended up with lower charges... same what short in velocity (2670fps). Enough accuracy and precision but I didn't use it! I still have those interlock 220gr RN at home...
I can not (with my newby reloader experience) understand this...
Please share your thoughts on this one.
Thank you.
