308 165 Solid Base Seconds

I received my order of 6.5, 7mm, and 308 caliber seconds the other day. I loaded a test batch of 308's and the handful I weighed seemed to average about a half grain light across the board. As long as they shoot accurately, I really don't care about that, and I doubt any deer that gets in the way of one will object either. I haven't had the chance to test them yet, but I'll report back when I do.

I also received my shipment of 308 165 SB's.
Loaded up a few and checked my zero.
I stacked 3 at 100 yards with the 308 Win and then center punched the 200 yard gong.
I'm ready for opening day on 11/15.

I m old but the Solid Base was the Daddy to the original Ballistic Tip. ( SB + plastic tip = Ballistic Tip)

So that same thick base that BT is known for came from the Solid Base.

I placed an order, received an order number and two days later an email stating they were off on inventory and had none to send me☹️

I'm certain that there will be more.

I was going to order some, especially for that price, but my lovely State of NewYorkistan is really trying to go non-lead and with the current elected officials I suspect I won’t be long before we even have to have emission controls on all our rifles…..😜

Washington state is trending towards requiring unleaded bullets for big game hunting as well. I've been slowly laying in a supply from Nosler, Barnes and Hornady. All are shooting well.

Have thousands of good lead-core hunting bullets on hand though, often purchased from Shooters Pro Shop when Nosler had over-runs or blems there.
