Hi guys, been a long while. I just got a new BAR Shortrac in .308. I am hoping to shoot 165gr. Ballistic Tips through it with Varget and Federal 210M primers. Just wondering if anyone has specific loads they like with this combination. I couldn't get my A bolt to shoot 165's that well, but I'm hoping this BAR will. Thanks in advance!

Nosler lists 44gr's of Varget the most accurate with their 165's with 46 being a MAX load. I would start around 42 and work up in .5gr's. I would be surprised if you didn't find something that shot well in between there. The 308/165 and Varget are a pretty solid combo.

Thanks. I couldn't resist asking to see if anyone had the same setup. I just made my loads, so hopefully next weekend will find me doing barrel break in and load development.

The older BARs could be quite accurate. I'll be watching with some interest in your report of performance. I don't doubt that the newer BARs can still shoot as well as the old ones.
