.308 dia 150 gr Etip

Last week I shot an average size doe in our early antlerless season with my Rem 700 30-06 22in bbl using the 150 gr Nosler Etip 61grs RL-19 The shot was at 282 yds thru the middle of the shoulders. Entrance wound was not visible and exit about the size of a nickel. Was surprised at how small the exit was. Inside damage was split heart and lungs torn up fairly well. Doe traveled about 25 yds. Is this normal for the Etip to make such a small exit wound? It was my first time using this bullet. Dan.

Yes. The design allows for penetration rather than explosive expansion. Nevertheless, the devastation to internal organs is almost always extensive. Sounds as if you witnessed fairly typical performance from the E-Tip.
