what are all of your favorite 308 win loads for hunting and varmint shooting thanx

max or near max loads with IMR 4064 and 165 or 168 match, with 110 gr. hornady a max 4064 was really good and varget was good with that bullet also, that barrel liked any weight bullet as long as I shot it with 4064. I guess im one of the weird guys that never had varget work with anything, and I have tried it with 2 barrels, the second one being a shillen select match barrel. In my new barrel it is liking H4895 with 155, 168 or 175 match bullets, cant find any IMR anywhere, that barrel will also shoot moa with bl-c 2 and rl15 with the same bullets, just not as good. All these I was shooting at near max.

I would start with 4064 and one of the 4895 powders, if those dont work try the other stuff, maybe varget, I just never had luck with it.

By the way those 110 hornady v max are the most devastating bullets I have seen on small or large varmints, sorry nosler yall dont make a 110 gr. balistic tip or I would shoot that.

dont do any varmint huntin, but i use 43grains of imr4895 with the 165 AccuBond
dont owna chronograph tho

Varget and RL 15 work great with the 150s and 165s.

For 150gr bullets I found Win748 one of the best. For 125-130gr bullets Win748 or Benchmark was outstanding.

My hunting load is 45 grains or IMR 46064 under a 165 grain bullet.
Witch ever bullet a given rifle likes best. My Kimber gets about .6 to .75 at 2750 with a hornady.

Try working 42-44 grs. of R-15 with 168 gr Hornady A-Max, CCI BR-2 primer Hornady Match Brass it works for me.

i have been doing load developement for my 22" rem 700 308. the short bearing surface bullets, 155gr palma, 150gr ballitic tips. are not working in my rifle. 150 accubonds are a little better, i'm going to try 150gr partitions and 165gr accubonds. varget is what i'm using for the 308. if i could find magnum primers i have other powder choices to try. W760 h414. next range day i'll find out if the 44gr varget 165gr AccuBond fed210 primer in ww brass works

168 A-Max, LC Match Brass, CCI BR primers, 45 gr. Varget sure works for me.

155 Lapua Scenar and 44.8 grains of Varget shoot's well with my 308. Velocity is around 2950 fps. Hee's 3 shot at 510 yards. This bullet is supersonic to 1200 yards.
