Im'm not sure who would offer this caliber, maybe Sako.
The 308 Norma is a good round.

308Norma is a great round, but you're going to be looking for a needle in a haystack as far as finding one. Most of what you'll find will either be custom guns, or prehaps you will get lucky and find something imported from Europe that was factory chambered for this round. If you're interested, you could have one built on any standard length action, and it is not terribly expensive. If you speak with a gunsmith, you could likely have one built on a Remington 700 style action (the Howa is about the most economical) for roughly the price of a new rifle, maybe a smidge more. I want one in a Mauser style action myself, but have yet to find one, although I have looked pretty extensively. I actually found one, a really nice one, but it was waaaaaaaay out of my price range. Good luck with the search.

That is what I thought.....I may be inherieting one and just wanted to know about them

mbmm,

Nosler has load data on the 308 Norma Mag in the RG #4.
Its very similar to a 300 Win Mag.

This is an excellent 300 magnum!...........But the 300 Winchester no doubt, took away any past, present or future popularity from the 308 Norma Magnum..........You shouldn`t have any problem finding reloading data, reloading components, brass or anything else! It would be an excellent cartridge for any N/A Big game!

I reloaded for one for my buddy Brad. It is the ballistic twin of the 300 Win mag. It was built on a Springfield action.
We settled on 76 gr of H4831 and 180's.

He is dying to find one in a Browning Safari!

Very nice cartridge. It is very similar to the 30-338 wildcat. I have some experience with the wildcat.

What kind of rifle is it, if you don't mind me asking? If it were mine, I'd scrounge up the stuff to load for it, and shoot it. No safe queens at my house!

I am not sure of the rifle make, only the caliber, I did check on new brass and looks like it's 1.22 apiece for 20.......Dies come with it....and I don't know the make of them......

Dubyam, you had said that you would like a 308 Norma. I seem to remeber seeing about 3 or 4 of them in a shop in Ardmore, Alberta. It's an old guy with a pawn shop and all the legal crap to sell firearms in Canada, he is generally way over-priced, but had 3 or 4 308 NM. Being such an obsolete caliber they were quite cheap. I think a couple might have been parker hale built on mauser actions and the other one or two a probably built on mauser actions possibly part of an estate sale from the smithy from Peace River who passed awhile back. I believe the price was 450 or 550 for the plain ones, and he has a Parker Hale with a white birch stock that has a bunch of wood work for about 850 or 9. I have no idea of the condition of the bores of any. I doubt that the hassle of getting them out of canada would make them an option anyway.

Thanks for the heads up, although I bet you're right, I suspect it isn't worth the hassle, and unfortunately right now I don't have the coin, either. I will be on the lookout, however, and appreciate anyone who sees one letting me know.
