308 subsonic

My 308's love trailboss and titegroup with 168 grain eld m. Around 8 grains of titegroup or 10 grains of trailboss.
Also 170g cast bullets with 8 grains of IMR green.

All are around 1050 fps. Use for target and small game inside 100 yrds. Haven't tried them at longer distance.

Do these open up much at all on impact at these speeds?

Just got my hands on the Nosler 220gn RN #30181 using A1680 that QuickLOAD calculates needs to be seated ~0.130" longer than the Nosler Reloading Guide of 2.100" COL.

I am completely wrong. The Nosler #30181 1.465" measured bullet seated at ***2.23" COL will not chamber***. I have to re-work my QuickLOAD calculation starting at 10.0gn A1680 and work up .1gn at a time using the 2.100" COL.

Nope, for grouse and such don’t want expansion.


Here they start to tumble past 100 yards. This is 13 shots, Bullseye is 1.5". 7.8 grains TG, 168 grain Sierra Match.
