.338 Federal starting point

Looking for input on a starting load with Hornady LVR and 200gr Accubonds. Thinking 45/46 grains is about right, any thoughts?

Just realized this is my first post on the forum - maybe some will recognize my user name from other forums. Anyway, I posed the same question here and on 24hcf - hopefully someone can chime in and validate my thoughts on this load or talk me out of it.

Hodgdon shows 45.0gr as a start for a 210, with 49.0 as a max. Please let us know how it works for you. I have a 338 Fed project in the initial stages myself.

If you aren't happy with the LVR, you might consider Ramshot TAC, or IMR-8208XBR. We wound up using IMR8208XBR with 180 gr AccuBond in my son's Ruger Hawkeye. TAC is another viable option.

Or IMR 4895 H414 or H380. 414 might be too slow but the other two should work.
