Here is my setup:
Remington 700p action
Douglas 28" barrel
Muscle Break
Timney Trigger set @ 2#s
B&C stock

20 MOA Base
Zeiss HD5 5-25-50 scope

338 Nosler accubonds, CCI 250 Primers, Nosler brass with H1000 powder.

This particular target has 90.5 gr of H1000 but the had some issues with the bolt wanting to stick a little bit. The group measured .6 gross MOA. I am going to back it down to 89.0 gr and my average is 2783 fps with an extreme spread of 6 @ 89 gr. Hopefully I can stretch its legs this afternoon.

Questions:

Is the FPS average in line with what you guys are seeing in your 338 Lapuas?

Any advice on how to tighten this group up or is it good enough?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your input.

What bullet are you using? The accuracy isn't bad at all. Depending on bullet profile and weight, the velocity may, or may not, be low.

That is pretty decent for the 300 gr AB. I would play with the COL to see if you might tighten it up a bit more but you are pretty well good to go.

@ DrMike:

I am using a 300 gr Nosler AccuBond

@JD338:

I will try adjusting the COL. Do you suggest going into the lands or backing off of the lands first? In what increments would you suggest?

Thanks again for your input!

Awesome 338 and man, your speeds look excellent as well for the 300 AB! That is a killer load right there!
