I'm about ready to give up on IMR 4350 and the Hornady 250 Grain SP.
I shot one halfway decent load but have been unable to repeat it since with multiple attempts. The good group was fired in new factory brass and then resized, full length, and shot again using the same bullet and powder charge. The 7/8" group has not been repeatable and I'm thinking it was a fluke more than an indicator of accuracy or potential. I'm thinking of trying IMR 4831, H 4831, or IMR 7828. What say you all? I don't have much RL 22 and not likely to see any anytime soon.
Also, I don't crimp my rifle rounds but I have a friend, pulling his hair out and jumping up and down, that swears I need to crimp, even if just a light crimp, the .338 because of it's recoil. Any thoughts on this?
