I can not find any 250 AB locally.
So I bought two boxes of 225 AB's.
Anyone have a good recipe?
Or should I say "JD338 what's your dope on this one?" CW

I would bet JD has some data on them! They should be some screamers in your RUM. Scotty

Thanks JD
What velocity are you getting? CW

I can't get to it now but close to 3100 fps.

Wow, those are some serious loads! Man, Hodgdon must be able to tell when you all are buying powder! Probably have to bring in a night crew! Just kidding, but that is very impressive. Scotty

i wanna know what barrel lengths they are using for those numbers?

I'm getting 2970fps w/250AB and 3150fps w/200ET out of the std 26" XCR barrel.

My M700 LSS 338 RUM is a factory stock 26" barrel, no brake or porting.

Went out to the range today

The 103 grs of Retumbo had a sticky bolt lift in my gun on one of the rounds, my crony measured 3321 fps..... yikes! That's mighty fast.

I loaded 96.0 grs of RL-25 to mag length and they did OK.
Very much improved when moved up to .02 off the lands. Very good load.

I will load up more of the RL-25 loads and go shoot several groups with it.
I will also download the Retumbo load by 2 grs and try it again. CW

I just loaded some 225 AB with 101 grs of Retumbo, the 103 loads went across the corny @ a little over 3300 FPS and had a shiney spot on the case head... maybe a squeak to much pressure. The velocity is what it is, I can not believe it is correct but I will try it again. CW

You are running too high a pressure and you will shorten the case life.
Your load with RL 25 at 3100 fps with low SD is the one to key in on. A 225 gr AB at 3100 fps with a single digit SD and .5 MOA will kill anything in NA, with the first shot.
I would save the Retumbo for the 250 gr loads.
