338 Whisper

I bought a used 14 in Thompson Contender chambered in 338 Whisper made by SSK Industries. Parent case is 7 BR case necked up to 338 cal. Case is 1.5 inches long and Hornady 285 gr bullet is 1.7 inches long doing 1017 fps. I bought several boxes on the Nosler 300 gr 338 Comp bullets and need to load some up.

That might be about the goofiest looking round I've seen.....but I like it! Can't wait to hear about the characteristics of how it shoots.

While I like the .338 Win Mag I don't think I'll be playing with any of the whisper cartridges anytime soon.

Not that I'm aware of. There is another 338 Whisper based on 221 Fireball case.
