I dont know enough about these to be specific but either a hand type (?) or one that would fit my Redding trimmer???

I dont see options on one that would fit a redding trimmer around.

Any help is appreciated.

Not all, but some of my 350JR formed brass have a VERY slight "donut" near the base of the neck.

Id like to find some kind of relatively inexpensive method to remove that and just run it in formed brass to check when forming.

God Bless

I use the Forster. Outside and inside neck turning attatchments are available for it in all caliber configurations, and it works great.

Steve, I think that your issue is with the gunsmith and lack of workmanship. Buying a neck reamer to fix what he did not do right to begin with is fine but does not address the real issue. Just my take, I could be wrong certainly and misundertstand what I think I know about this but it sounds as though he did not deliver a product to you which was satisfactory? I would go back on him because you are going to have the neck wrinkle every time you size and you can't keep neck reaming to fix it.

The more I measure and the more I test this round, the more I think I'm an idiot and just "missed" some things that may have been obivious to those of you more experienced.

The brass when formed just had the "old" shoulder moved to where it was then neck brass and there was about a .003 "thickness" in the neck brass about 1/8 up from the shoulder of the 350JR.

Add .006 to the whole shebang on top of "normal" and I was metal to metal in that area in a chambered round without ANY room for expansion. Fired brass have a .390 diameter. Max neck wall of .015 gives a loaded round neck of .388, and I have been shooting for .014 neck walls and .386. Add .006 to those and they simply would not chamber or would chamber VERY stiffly and I didnt realize it was the NECK and NOT the formed shoulder that caused this.

Only after I fired and resized some and measured again did I recognize the true issue..

Fired brass with a .390 neck . .495 shoulder and .5124-.5125 above the belt (and neither move) tell this ol goat, this is a TIGHT chamber. Perhaps this is normal for rechambering however it is the first Ive dealt with.

All in all.......I have to embarrrassingly admit the fact that a lot of this was just alien to me.......but I'm learning.

Nope, NOT happy with the barrel not being set with the sight holes top dead center but I WAS giving the smith grief over time needed to shoot and he is willing to fix that after season and finish the job with a reblue.

Fairly, Jim's rifle looks like perfection so obviously something was different on the 700 but......I'm giving him another go (after all HE DID pay for the reamer) with the second 700 on the way with specific instructions that I dont want it till completely done.

Glass half full and I do have to point my finger at the mirror on some of the issues.

BTW......I no longer need the reamer.
God Bless
Steve
