I see data for in the newest sierra manual for their 225 grn bullet. just wondering what would be a safe load with the AccuBond? sierra list 66 grns starting and 71.6 max.
I would be interested in cfe 223 data also

There is a auction house that has an estate sale going on with a Ruger 77 in .35 Whelen. I was watching it hoping I might get a deal on one but the price is already up to $700+ so likely will be over $1000 when the auction closes Tuesday. Was hoping it would be seen as a relic cartridge and I could get it cheap but does not look like it will happen. Looks like some .35 Whelen lovers out there bidding it up damn it they should be buying whatever new creed or prc rifle is being introduced not the old boring Ruger in obsolete cartridge. Don't they know a Whelen would have trouble killing a rabbit let alone a deer.

It is a collector though as I don't think they make any Whelen models anymore.

I don't have the Power Pro data available.

I blew the dust off the 700 Classic 35 Whelen and did a load work up with CFE223 as an alternative to RL15 and the Sierra 225 gr Game King. I got good velocity from the 22" barrel and the 100 yards group went .475".

prior to Alemeda fire I had lots of RL15, since the fire I have not been able to find any. I have 2lbs of cfe223 & powrepro 2000. JD338 what do you think of using seirra data for the AccuBond bullet?

That Sierra data is impressive for CFE223. Looks like winning combo for the old Whelen.

RR,
I'm using the same load with the 225 gr BT with similar results.
