Well I spoke with Mike last night and he advised that he received a call from RMR :). They told him my rifle was repaired and ready to test.
I am so looking forward to hearing from the young fellow telling me that my little lady is ready to go and then the testing is about to begin
I am actually going to order a couple of things for Chrony this morning & then I should be set.

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

Good deal, sure did not take tham long.

Good luck with the load developmment. Let us know if we can assist you.

Thanks JD, I am sure that I will be on the board asking questions :)
I got a email and they replaced the new Timney with another Timney & also replaced the firing pin spring  it should be good to go. Now Mike is going to pick up the lady and do some testing with it to confirm everything.
I am hoping to have the lady home towards the end of next week or early the following week.
My hunting should start on Sept.1st and before then I have 3 rifles to get ready so I will be busy

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

What load are you planning on using in the 35 Whelen?

JD338

Hey, good luck with your load work and it sure did not take them long. Good deal

Good luck, I'm taking notes. I picked up some 225 AB and 250 Part from SPS that I'm going to use. My stock finally came in so hopefully I'll hear something in the next couple of weeks

The load I am going to play with is 225gr. Over top of a start place of 59.0grs of RL-15
The only new brass I have been ably to obtain is Remington:(
I am going to use the once fired factory Remington brass I have already accumulated
I also have 2 boxes of 200gr. Abs to load but that will be later as Elk & Moose are in Sept. & Oct.
Besides this rifle I have 2 others to get ready:)

Blessings,
Dan

Hi RiverRider, yes I use Accubonds in all my rifles with the exception of Partitions in my 308win. But I don't have a 308 right now :) A know a Doctor from Dawson Creek once stated why not use a good bullet it is the cheapest part of the hunt
I may be trying out some A-frames in the next while cause I have heard really good things about them but as my Pop used to say "if it ain't broke why fix it"

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

You are right in the sweet spot.
Load work up should be a snap.

It will be neat to see how it shoots with those 225's and later with the 200's I'm sure you will keep us up to date :)

Hi gerry, I will keep you guys well informed :) I emailed Mike today after he told me he picked up my rifle and was going to test it tomorrow. I suggested that he looks through the scope with his left eye while shooting it so that he can get the proper perception
I have not yet got a rebuttal on that remark  but I better watch it or that Leica could be 8" high and a lot to the left when I get it back

Blessings,
Dan

Or maybe mounted backwards

Glad they sorted it out for you quickly.

Yes gerry sometimes I am a little to quick with the lip
But Mike has broad shoulders and can take a little just as he gives a little.

Blessings,
Dan

Yeah, I did notice that the scope is backwards. I can fix about anything if I have a big enough hammer. Fortunately, I have a four pound maul in my pickup. I'll do a bit of minor surgery and have the rifle turned the right way in no time.

Excellent point, RR. Man, I nearly overlooked that vital fallback position.

With 225s (Accubonds?) and Re15, I predict you'll enjoy great success Dan.

Same here. Matter of fact, I would be hard pressed to think your load work will take very long at all. I actually don't mind the Remington cases in the Whelen. They are working well for me. Just annealed a huge lot of them, back before I left. Can't wait to load some up and build my drop chart.

Hi Scott I hope things are still going well?
Could you explain in very simple terms what Annealed is?

Blessings,
Dan
