After I find out what my Dentist bill will be for some unplanned maintenance. I was going to send the action off to Douglas Barrels and let them chamber and fit a stainless #3 contour to the action and I was going to slow rust blue the action my self since I used to slow rust brown my muzzle loaders I use to build. :grin:

The bill will only be part of the pain. Pulling that wisdom tooth will be the worst of it. There will be pictures and a range report when it's done. :grin:

I'd check IT&D you might get a Douglas barrel installed cheaper.

Late to the party, but my 700 Classic (1-16") shoots 275 gr. Barnes Original bullets as well as anything.

There are some reports of the 310 gr Woodleigh bullets stabilizing in a 1 in 16 twist Remington barrel but others definitely don't. For sure 250's will stabilize nicely....

250's work really well in mine. Mine thinks it's a 22-250 with 250 PTs.
