Thanks guys.

This is what I am thinking, and I could be totally wrong.

Hart 23" SS barrel #3 contour. 1 and 14"twist -6 groove (was suggested by Hart). Hart also was going to Bed the action and float the barrel. I did consider Pac-Nor, but they send out there gun smith work and I have called several times with no response.

Mainly I will shoot 225 GR. out of this gun.

Thinking about the Nosler AB, Nosler NP, and Sierra GK. ( i know this is a Nosler site, but I always had good luck with Sierra also.

Reloading dies? ...was thinking Redding ? Any suggestions? Do you guys crimp?

The limited reloading I have done I have always used LE Wilson dies but just found out they do not make one for the 35.

Brass?
Powder? was going to buy a few this weekend Rel 15, AA 2520, IMR 4064??

I am new, so be patient with me :)

Sincere regards
Corey Ford

Welcome to the forum Corey. Everything you stated is spot on! Reddding or hornady for me ESPECIALLY hornady if you're going to neck up 30-06 brass. They sport the elliptical expanders which I love.
Also no crimp for me, only handguns and levers.

Who made your bushing for your Wilson neck die

Whoever does the dies should be able to make the bushing. Neil Jones makes thread and arbor dies and he make you bushing die, and trust me it be cheaper than what I paid.

This is old post and picture of Neil's dies

Hello again
Can u inform me on jes
I have a new remington 7mm mag barrel
Are u saying I could get that rebored to 35 whelen
And fit that to my 700 mountain rifle ?

I got a new 270 SS sporter barrel sent you a PM.

I don't see it mentioned by the OP, but what is the caliber that the LSS was originally chambered for? If it is a magnum caliber (.540) you will have to change that out for a .470 bolt face to work with the Whelen. It can be done, but there is more expense you will have to figure into the build.

First off I want to thank everyone for all the help.

With regards to reboring by JES, what type of accuracy are you guys getting with a rebored rifle.

Is there added stress to the barrel? How long does it take to break-in?
Lapping needed.

I love shooting, but I what I love the most is to be able to put cloverleafs groups down range.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Corey,
My 35 Whelen is the 1988 Classic with 22" barrel, 1 in 16 twist. I shoot RL 15 powder.
My gun prints the 225 AB and the Partition in the same place.

I would rebarrel that 700. I put a Shilen #3 on a Classic 700SA in 358 win and with a .358 bore it is a dream to carry. If I were to make up a bolt in 35 Whelen it would be on a 700 with a 22-23" #3 contour. If you just put a SS barrel thats bead blasted to a flat finish its afordable. You then need to have it inletted and pillar bedded. The remingtons standard contour is the smallest I would want in 35 whelen their MNT light contour seems too light for that bore size and may not lend it its self to accuracy.
