Hello,

Has anyone loaded the 225 grain AccuBond in this case?

Is it too long to work in a 673 Remington? OAL 2.800 (I think this is correct)

Thanks for any input.

Regards,

Too long to work.

This is why I always opted for a 35 Whelen.........

Just curious,
What would happen if you were to grind down the tip, making it into a flat point?

Well you'd shorten up the bullet, lower the BC and lighten up the bullet, what did you think would happen?
Now that I have that out of my system I's saw somewhere that a writer tested some poly tipped bullets he cut some of the tips off and shot a group and shot some complete and there was no change in accuracy.

Now that idea is well worth trying!

I'm going to order a box and give that a try.

I wonder if I can just pull the tip off?

The open sight Rem 673 is not intended to be used for 500 yard shots anyway.

I can't see why it would not work.

Thanks,

Seedsntrees,

Just to clarify, take a look at the Nosler .308 cal 180 gr Protected Point PT.
That is what I am referring to. Maybe you could make a jig to grind down the polycarbonate tip to duplicate the Protected Point PT. The jig would give you some consistency for your COL.
I think it would be best to not pull the tip, just cut, grind, sand it down.

Nosler, any consideration for a .358 cal 225 gr Protected Point AB?

That is what I would try to accomplish.

Sand / grind a flat front area.

I wonder what is the length of the poly tip on that bullet?

Thanks,
