357 arrived yesterday

You will like that I'm sure. Load up some light 38spl loads and breaker in right while getting use to it.

Tecumseh, If you have any .357 cases on hand try loading them light with the bullet you wish to shoot. This will eliminate the ring that you have to get out of the cylinder after firing .38 rounds. A friend of mine who does a "lot" of target shooting brought this idea to me and it works great.

Very handsome, Tecumseh. I'm quite certain that will be a pleasure to shoot.

I gave it a good cleaning last night but won't get a chance to shoot it till next weekend. I'm having the guy I got the pistol through get me a set of dies and and a couple boxes of 125 gr and 158 gr HP/XTP bullets.

Is this your first .357 mag?

Great cartridge. The .38's or downloaded .357's with mild lead-bullet loads are superbly accurate and a joy to shoot. Such a handgun is terrific for an afternoon of plinking at the range, or more serious practice. Also an outstanding tool to use when educating a new handgunner.

Pump up to full power .357's and you've got a game-taking handgun, or an outstanding self-defense weapon. The full power 125's in particular have quite a reputation as a fight stopper.

They do have a fair bit of muzzle blast & flash too...

This is my first 357. I've shot a few over the years and liked this one best for me. I'm going to keep it in my truck for ccw.

The Remington 357 Magnum 125 Grain SJHP load can also be used to light cigars twelve feet from the end of the barrel.

Badass revolver. Will last you for the rest of your life with full power loads.

Agree! The GP100 is a pretty robust revolver.

I really like it. In fact I like all of Ruger's double action and single actions.
When I had my .357 the only thing I didn't like about it was the ear pierceing muzzle blast. This was before most of us used or even knew about ear protection.
Seem to have this ringing in my ears that won't go away.....

I wouldn't mind having one of those at all. Very, very tempting.
