has anyone ever ran a QL on the 357 MAXimum with slower burning powders than AA1680 with say a 180gr speer flat point bullet or the Henson 180gr bullet or heavyer rifle type bullets ? is it the straight walled case that limits the type of powder or the combination of straight wall case/ bore dia. AA1680 sits about 68th on the burn charts and IMR 8208 XBR sits at 85th place, 18 powders in between .. look at the .223 load data, there is a WIDE range of powders. I haven't loaded many straight wall cases and really don't know what the limitation are. This Would be for a Encore rifle barrel 24 inches long..

I ran a QL test on the Maximum once not long after I installed the software. I have shot the 357 Max a lot and have load data. The results I got from QL just didn't reflect what I had from experience. QL is a bit flaky on the small straight cases. AA1680 was the best powder in a Contender 10" pistol I found from testing both 180 gr Hornady SSP and XTP.
