375 Weatherby in a Ruger #1

I agree...of course, the owner knows what he "wants" out of it...not saying it isn't a good set up.

Absolutely!

Whenever a person modifies a firearm it is ideal for him or her. Not necessarily for the next buyer. Now this guy probably paid $200 or so to rechamber and because he thought it was the cat's meow he believes he should be compensated for that. The future buyer might see it as "You messed up a perfectly good classic 375 H&H for 100 fps more." In this case value can actually go down instead of up.
 
Unless it comes with 8 hundred dollar bills rolled up sitting in the chamber this guy is out of his mind. Also costing you 100 dollars to check it out seems a bit extreme. Maybe he just doesn't want to sell it and this way his wife will stay off his back as he is "trying to sell".

You may be onto something there. That would be a brilliant way to ensuring that the rifle stayed in your possession. :lol:
