400 Whelen

I figured you all would like to hear a little about the other Whelen.. Pretty cool cartridge with .411" bullets.. Should be a big time hammer..

The 400 Whelen is a very cool round. A close range hammer for sure.

I half-heartedly looked into a .400 Whelen, and I will tell you one thing: I would not build one on a push-feed action. There isn't much shoulder left after necking up an '06 hull. I would definitely want a CRF action... Mauser, M70, or Ruger Mark II/Hawkeye. Frankly, I think it's a case of taking things too far. I'd be perfectly content with a .375 Whelen (or Whelen Improved, or Brown-Whelen), myself.

30-06, 35 whelen, and 400 whelen. He bought it years ago and doesnt use it, but it looks nice
