This afternoon I put some together. First up RL-26 , too slow. Loaded up 4.
135gr - 2792fps
136gr - pulled
137gr - pulled
138gr - 2869fps
Full case got me nowhere near my goal of 3000fps.
Next up RL-17 , now we’re talkin’. Loaded up 6 this time.
120gr - 2884fps
122gr - 2894fps
124gr - 2928fps
126gr - 2998fps
127gr- 3030fps
128gr - 3046fps

128grs still leaves some room in the case. 128gr easy bolt lift primer fine. 127gr is where I’m going to put my focus on.
Now something to note , the 2 I pulled to save the bullets came out with a light tap in the bullet hammer. I can see why some crimp Hammers , they have light neck tension. I loaded these with no crimp.

Nice. I have a lot of reloader 16 I want to try
Don’t worry you be burning “a lot” in each pull of the trigger. It will be nice to see how RL-16 stacks up to RL-17.
Any time I put 100grs, or more, of powder in a case, I wonder if I'm not moving in the wrong direction. LOL

Good luck with the 404.
100gr+ equals the right direction😁
Nice, what a thumper! I’ve been getting notifications more frequently that 17 pops up in stock. Still not what I’d call easy to find, though.
A few days ago I had an 5lber in the cart on PV just couldn’t pull the trigger , way too expensive. The price has doubled since the last time I bought some. A little over a year ago I sold a 5lber to a local guy for what I had in it , having sellers remorse now.

Now a days powder and primers are like guns. Don't sell what you have.

You are getting some impressive speed with the 404 grainer.
I'm sure you will find your load.

I do have a 8lber of Superformace when I run out of RL-17. I know it’s not the same.

I’m hoping to get sub MOA at 3000fps+. This rifle is stupid accurate with the Barnes 500gr TSX hopefully it carries over.
The 404 SH would cut a full 6 minutes off of 600yds compared to the TSX. The crazy part the BC is higher on the 404 by a bit.

I loaded up 10 this morning. I put a crimp on 3 of them using my old Hornady seating die.

It’s hard to see but the 3 in front are crimped.
Next was my disapointment , I drove to Athens little shooting range thinking someone had plowed it out , nope. Way too much snow down on the farm to haul my bench and stuff out. Looks like I won’t be putting anything on paper for a long time🙁

Yikes ye yowser! I enjoy getting to watch some others in their endeavors, but like watching someone scale a sheer rock cliff, it's interesting and impressive to see, but I'm not interested. :ROFLMAO:

What a beast. Hats off to you sir, I'll admit ahead of time, I'm likely not tough enough. :D

Actually I do not. Between the 378 416 460 Bees and the 160 grain case capacity of the 375 BAS a pound does not go far.

375 BAS

How long does it take for your eyes to roll back to the front of your head to see if you hit it?;) Dang, that's a lot of wallop of both ends. Good on ya, bud. A 12 gauge and 3 1/2 magnum tky load is as far as I want to go.

Tell about it , I barely get 50 rounds out of 1lb of powder for the 416 and 460.

Weight is your friend on these rifles. I would easily shoot my 460 over any 3 1/2 mag turkey load.

I don't even want to pull the trigger on one of those 3.5 in things:oops: Dan.

What scope are you running on that beast?

Wow some pretty long range setups there! Nightforce on the big 3 Bees for me.

The boy has a Vortex Viper on his 378 also. I’m a firm believer in Vortex scopes. They can handle brute horsepower.
I have steel out at 600yds and both the 460 and 416 pound it with authority. 500gr A-tips in the 416 is the cats meow at that range.
