Hello,
I just picked up a 41 rem mag. Always wanted one never shot one. I was hoping I could get a little info from someone willing to share there experiences on some hand loads for this caliber. I have lots of different powders on hand and was thinking of starting with H110.

thanks in advance

H110 in the .41 mag is tops with a 210 grain hornady xtp! Nothing on the planet can walk away from it. Load from 20 to 22 grains. I load 22 grains in Ruger .41 mag with this bullet and can consistently shoot 3.5 to 4" groups at 100 yd with scope on bags. 3" high at 50yds will be zeroed at 100 and can get to about 135yds before is back 3" low. In 7.5 barrel velocity at 1,450 fps.

Check Hodgdon load data here: http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/pistol

I shoot cast in my 6-inch 57, and have had decent results with 2400. When I have enough empty brass to fool with I intend to try some Accurate 4100 with the same bullet. I found that powder to be outstanding in .44 Mag with cast 255s.

If you ever decide to try cast, I'd use something other than H110 or W296 (they are exactly the SAME powder, by the way). Either should work really well with jacketed bullets, though---the heavier the better. And don't forget the nice, firm crimp.

21 gr 296 OR H110 with a 210 hornady. Same powder BTW.

I've had good luck with 2400, AA#5, and Unique. Seems like I used another one, but I'm away from my bench, so can't see what's there. Had good luck with those XTPs, LaserCast, older Speer, Nosler, and Sierra bullets. It's a lot of fun to let the rifle barrels cool while trying to work on clay targets at 100 yards. The 6" Smith Model 57's will do it if I can.

+1 I use the H110 & XTP 210 grainers in my .41 Mag Model 657 Smith and Wesson 6 inch barrel SS. It's a flamethrower and velocity is fast.

Thanks for all the responses. I will be putting my leupold scope on it and I have H110 and 210 XTP bullets so I should be in great shape.

Thanks again

Sounds like a great set up. Post some pictures when you get the glass mounted.
H110 is tough to beat.

I've taken a few nice deer with the Nosler 210 JHP over H110. Don't remember the charges offhand.

My standard target load is using Alliant unique under a 215 Missouri cast. Very accurate and mild recoil. Knocks down 100m Rams well also. I'm not a serious silhouette shooter, but this gets the job done. Using Lyman data for cast.

Recently loaded some 215 Missouri "Hi-Tec" coated over HS-6, also following Lyman data. Haven't tested this one yet, other than some steel plates in the back yard.

I had rifles on my mind when I looked at the thread title. I thought this was about 416 Remington Mag and wondered what y'all were doing with such light bullets.

>>>>>cast bullets w/ gas check are the way to roll w/ wheel guns. best accuracy and best terminal performance on game!

...I've pretty much forgone H110 & 2400, using Lil'Gun instead, generally better MV w/ less muzzle blast, cleaner burning, & relatively easy to find...
