44 Rem Mag quickload powder recommendations

I've never loaded for this round before. A friend of mine has a Win 94 carbine chambered in .44 Rem Mag. He wants to shoot the 225 g FTX Hornady bullet out of Hornady brass. What powders should I look to first? Thank you in advance!

Without question, H110. :mrgreen: (I understand win 296 is the same as 110). I load with Hornady 300 grain XTP, and CCI 350 (large mag pistol). 20.0 grains of H110

That's a hefty load, I use it in my Ruger Super Redhawk 7.5"

...I've gone to Lil'Gun, 20.5grs. will get you around 1500fps., seems to be cleaner & less muzzle blast...
