I found one and could not pass it up at that price so she followed me home.

So I am trying to stoke her with 270 gr and 300 grains. I have a bunch of loads but want to hear your success stories.
What say you?

Fun little cannon. 8)

Pop,

The 44 cal 250 gr PT would scream from your 444.

I was thinking about that Jim and will try them in a while. Thing is I have a heckload of 270 and 300 grainers sitting around.

Not at today's component prices!

I have been wanting to get a .444. I am thinking about getting a 15" barrel for my Encore pistol. Seems like it would be a lot of fun!

Honestly , I have had all of them. 444, 450 Marlin and 45-70's. I really like the 444 a lot.

The fact is that it is in fact the original Marlin big bore--intro'ed in 1964 is a nostalgic point for me.
Granted , the others will launch 500 gr bullets at 1500 fps but my 444 has a lot of versatility too. It will reproduce from 44 Russian ballistics to 44 special to 44 mag to 445 Supermag to full bore loads.
Anything from 180 gr at 800 fps (with a few grains of bullseye or unique) to 355 gr at 2100 fps.

It is plain fun to brutal!

I sure love my little 444P Outfitter! Super accurate with LeverEvolution ammo.

Not to jump in and change the subject, but prices of ammo componets will never go back down. Just like gas, milk.......ect...ect
One day we will all just have to face it and move on, Have fun while you are living. I never for see prices going back down so dont let the prices stop you from doing what you love.
