Had similar results in Velocity with Longshot Powder from 8.0 to 9.0 gr also with WW Brass but with WLP primers. 45 ACP+P to 45 Super +P. Longshot another good powder for 45 Super and 10mm.

Will cronograph soon to validate with 255 grain K. Should duplicate Double Tap 255K 45 Super load in velocity .

Buffalo Bore 255gr Hardcast factory load 45 Super cronograph @ 1063fps in 4.6” KKM and the actual weight of the bullet was closer to 250gr not the advertised 255gr. Very similar in appearance to my Rim Rock 250gr Hardcast RNFP. Makes me wonder does UW and BB use Rim Rock Hardcast bullets ?

The 13.0 as expected of AA9 will be my Bear Defense load in Alaska. No malfunctions with all 3 powder charges from 45 ACP+P to 45 Super +P. No Pressure signs on brass excellent ! No difference between Winchester 45 ACP brass and Starline Nickle 45 ACP brass no case expansion but prefer Starline probably aided by excellent KKM barrel case support. ! No difference noted between 22 and 24 pound Flat spring weights. I will leave the 24 pound flat spring in the Glock 21 as my setup.
Really like this Accurate No 9 in 45 Super just takes a tad more powder to reach same velocity as Longshot. In the 5.2” KKM and 4.6” KKM I think I will stay with AA9 and the 250gr in the 45 Super. Now my 3rd year with 45 Super move over 10mm . The one thing I noticed how clean the inside of the cases were probably aided by the excellent CCI 350 MAG primer using AA9 and good taper crimp provided by Lee Factory Crimp Die @ .471”. Patched the barrel after 15 rounds very good nothing but normal residue.

FYI : Max case expansion is .481” don’t go past this ! All loads here showed no pressure signs on brass at these powder charge 12.0 thru 13.0 in 5.2” KKM and 4.6” KKM barrel using regular 45 ACP brass. KKM Barrel have a great case support barrel. I would expect the 12.8 load in the 4.6” KKM barrel length velocity would fall directly into 45 Super velocity of 1075 FPS. I really think the 5.2” KKM and 4.6” KKM barrel length and slower AA9 powder with the CCI 350 MAG primer is a great combination for 45 Super with the 250/255gr bullets for a trail load.
My favorite Barrel length for trail is still the 4.6” KKM but the added velocity gain is nice using the 5.2” KKM barrel .

I use AA#9 in my warm 45 Colt loads with good results. 250gr XTP or 240gr XTP Mag gets me about 1700 fps from my Henry lever rifle. Good deer medicine.

also in the 45 Super especially the 250gr XTP.
Used the 240 XTP MAG for years in a sabot with the Knight MK85 Predator muzzleloader shot a few deer with that bullet 100% penetration never did recover a bullet.

I use the Rim Rock .451@ 250gr RNFP Top shelf bullet it’s 22 BHN at 1.200” good bear defense bullet.
Make sure you use CCI 350 primers with AA9
And Lee Factory Crimp
WW 45 ACP Brass works just fine but I prefer Starline 45 ACP brass or 45 Super brass both work in KKM barrel.

being a accomplished bullet caster , after looking at the rimrock bullets, they are nice, i went to accurate molds and orderd on that looks exceptionally close. after i cast some up ill post pics, bad news is it takes a couple months to get the mold , they are worth the wait exceptional quality. i have purchased over 26 molds from them never once disappointed. this 45 super is very interesting i have the gun glock 21 gen 4 , the spring 22lb from glock store, waiting on kkm barrel, ordered a month ago, now waiting on mold, thanks for all your help.

You will be very happy with KKM barrel I switched from OEM to KKM for Hardcast many years ago in G20 Gen 2 . I didn’t even fire one shot in G20 or G21 before switching barrels to KKM. I suggest ordering the correct 10% Extra Power Wolff Magazine Springs. Rim Rock Top Shelf bullets make an excellent Hardcast at 22 BHN for the trail . Starline 45 ACP or 45 Super brass works excellent.
