Has anyone worked up loads for a 350 gr. TSX in 458 Lott? I have a Ruger #1 and see that 350 X bullets go over 2700 FPS and I would like to build an all around rifle with some clout for elk, bear and pigs. Here's where a 350gr AccuBond would be ideal if they only made them.
Thanks

I have only worked up a 350gr TSX in a 416Wby. Would be interesting to see what response you get and what are the loads you receive from those who have.

This is where I will start with mine

+1 one for a 350 gr AB. An E-Tip would be one awesome bullet in the Lott!

I have been shooting a lot of speer 350gr bullets out of my Lott. I have been using H322 and Ramshot and getting 2760fps with my accuracy load. I had a couple where I reached 2850 but accuracy wasn't as good. I can't wait to try out some of the 350gr TSX bullets too, haven't found any yet. Honestly though there isn't much that could stand in front of that 350gr speer and shake it off.

If nosler only made a 400gr Partition, that would be perfect.

Thanks for all the feedback. The Barnes TSXs look to have a good profile and probably B/C. I can't find what it is yet. I used the Speer hot-cores in my 416 and they shot real well and like Thebear_78 said "There isn't much that could stand in front of that". My start load is 82grs. of IMR 4198. The barnes book says to trim back the case to use the second cannalure of the TSX if needed for an OAL of 3.6 in. but I don't need to in the #1 so I'm 3.64 in. CCI250 primes. I'll find out how she does when it stops raining. Oh yeah I put a Limbsaver recoil pad on the rifle. I have a 2.5-10x42 Monarch on it's way. Like Wayne van Zwoll wrote" This could of passed for artillery in bygone times". Pop Thanks for the info I'll post results and hopefully pictures if I can.

I couldn't get to the range but I went to the National Forest and shot for velocity. With the Ruger #1 Tropical with 24" barrel using 350 Barnes TSX and 82 grs. of IMR 4198 with a CCI 250 primers and an overall length or 3.64 with new Hornady brass I got a real consistant 2771 to 2772 fps. I didn't have a set up for accuracy because my scope isn't in yet but the recoil part of the equasion worked as expected. I shot into a 20' diameter 8 month old seasoned oak section and got 16 inches of penetration and split the oak enough that I could recover the bullet. 325 grs. and 3 petals were still attached. That is one tough bullet!! I think a guy could just about line three elk abreast and take them all with one shot.

Pop
That's an awsome ballistics program.
I used a load for H4198 out of the Barnes manual #3 for XFB. I thought IMR and Hodgden were pretty close and the lower working pressure of the TSX would make up for any slight difference. I did have one primer fall out so I was going to change the load but I didn't realize it was that far into the danger zone. The velocity seemed in line though. Hmmmm. Do you have a load worked up for the 350 gr. TSX ? Does anybody ?
Good hunting

Yup it is an eye-opener.

I will advise when I shoot mine. 748 is where it is at.
