Before getting into all our rifle shooting, we started with the .45's this morning; my Colt Officer's Model and his Ruger Blackhawk. He had the .45 Colt cylinder in his gun.

The O's model worked just fine. Accurate and reliable. Can't ask for more than that I suppose. The Blackhawk is an absolute delight to shoot. Today's .45 Colt load was a mild charge of 9.0 Unique and the 240 gr Sierra JHC bullet. Very mellow, low pressure load - and accurate! Fun stuff. We just shot standard 230 gr FMJ Win "white box" ammo through the Colt.

Oh, yeah, I have no doubt that it is a ton of fun shooting those 45s.

I have (2) .45 Colt SAA's, because I like them so much. I usually shoot a TiteGroup mid-range load of about 6.5 grains which translates into 900 fps with 225 Oregon Cast Bullets. I especially like this load as a working load for the Bisley Colt SAA, 4-1/2 inch barrel.

Thanks Vince. I stumbled into that Smith & Wesson, 3" 625 recently and couldn't resist...

If you ever decide to get rid of it, let me know.
I'd be interested.
