I had some time to try recovering some bullets from my 460 WBY this week. First one was was the Nosler at 50 yards. It took a couple of tries because the milk jugs bow from the impact , I went 2 wide and was able to recover this one 1A087598-E6B1-4DF3-B1E8-8BA4C923FA05.jpeg 7434FCBE-8929-4E55-99BC-6A3398CBF93D.jpeg 5E7E8F41-C37E-4E62-A8B5-48ED2C03308F.jpeg You can see where the sticks of powder imprinted into the lead. The Nosler was recovered in the ninth jug with 404.2gr and a total recovered of 451gr. Next was the Barnes 500 gr TSX , again took a couple of tries. The Barnes was recovered in the tenth jug at 408.9 gr and total recovered 465.2gr. I also tried the Nosler 300gr Silver BT which blew 3 jugs apart with nothing to recover. I had one attempt with the Hornady 500gr DGX but failed to recover , ran out of jugs :( If I do this again with this rifle I will try 5 gal. pails

AWESOME Bullet test! There must be some crazy speed on that 500 TSX to shear those petals off at 50 yards. Thank you for posting them.

Very Nice !

I need to gather up my tests from years ago.

458Lott 24" Ruger No.1, Hornady 500gr steel Jacketed copper clad would shoot through 39" of pine, with and against the grain.

This is from my CZ 602 458 Lott by Lon Paul years ago. They're no longer made anymore, but I used them a lot..... lol.

500 gr Speer African Grand Slam, I also loved the 450 gr Barnes TSX bullets to for the flatish trajectory on longer shots that weren't measured in feet.

I did however have the where with all to buy a few 100 of them.
