I'm looking for a good coyote load for a .243 my dad gave me. The rifle has @ 1 in 10" twist. It has "ITHACA GUN CO.
MADE IN FINLAND" on one side and "BOFORS BARREL STEEL" on the other. I read Tim Knights post and think 55gr BT is the way to go. I want a good flat and fast load like my .204. What do you guys think?

personally I like the 70's. They are flat and fast and will likely fly more true than the 55's. Unless, that is, you are going for the 4000fps mark.

I always used the 70 gr BT in 243 Win with excellent results. I sold it and bought a 700 Classic in 257 Roberts.

Don't overlook the 87 grain V-Max or the 87 grain HPBT. Excellent for 1 in 10 twist barrel. My 6MM Remington has 1 in 10 Shilen and love's the 87. My buddy has a Factory 243 Remington, also with 1 in 10 barrel twist. He kills several coyote with them......Velocity is 3300 fps coming out of the 28"Shilen.

I like 85 gr partitions for hunting but use 90 gr sierra full metal jackets for coyotes out of a browning micro medallion. Point of impact is close enough to keep the same zero. Just a suggestion.
