55gn bal tips

Hey fellas.I have a mod 70 heavy barrel 22-250.I have been using 55gn BTs in my 222k and was wondering what sort of velocity can 55gn bts handle in 22-250.

I have a 25" barrelled 22-250 and get just a bit better than 3750 out of the 55 Ballistic Tip with Varget or H380. Regards, Eagleye

It can handle any velocity you throw at it, if you are asking if there is a breaking point? The solid base design allows for extreme velocities. Our book has a high vel. at just over 3700fps.

I made a mistake and shot a yote in the guts and it dropped dead. I have shot everyone I have seen since in the guts and all dropped dead. I am talking broad side in the guts.

I'm pushing 3850 FPS w/ 55 gr. BT's out of a 24" Howa 22-250 w/ 3/4" groups at 100 yds. It's a great varmint bullet.
