Just purchased a 6.5 -284 Norma , #3 Douglas barrell 26 inch.

Here are the powders I have to work with..

H4350
RL22
H4831
6.5 Staball

Primers
Federal 215 match
Federal 210 match
CCI benchrest primers

Want to use 140 Nosler Ballistic tips or Accubonds.

Any data ?
Load suggestions?

I just threw together some RL23 just 3 rounds and it shot .509 3 shot group.

The guy had a few rounds of Accubonds he had bought from copper creek and it shot .312 3 shot group but I have no data on them..

I have not done a ladder test as I've been to busy fishing

I have a 2nd 6.5 x 284 build coming as well. On the current 6.5 x 284 I tested with only 1 powder and got hooked with it because it shoots lights out. I use H4831SC and H4831 will work, the grains is just a little longer which will not meter as easy as the SC version. I never used a 140 grain bullet since 123 and 130 grains is what I've used in this BR rifle. The reloading data on powder charges / bullet weights can be seen on the Nosler website. Start low and work up. Keep us posted on your results.

Up to 800 yards mostly since its a 9 twist Bartlein barrel. My new build will have the 7.5 twist Bartlein which will shoot the 140 to 156 grains and will be used as a competition and hunting rifle.

I cannot find any 130 accubonds or ballistic tips anywhere.

Have 140s

142 Sierra match kings shoot DAMN good in it but cannot hunt with them
